Casio Introduces New PROTREK Watch with 200 Meters Water Resistance

Casio continues to improve its PROTREK series of outdoor watches featuring sensor technology by incorporating advice from expert mountain climbers and trail runners. The PRG-130 released in 2008 gained popularity as the first triple-sensor watch with 200-meter water-resistance. The three sensors enable display of compass bearings, atmospheric pressure/altitude and temperature.
Along with the popular tide graph and 200-meter water resistance, the new triple-sensor PRG-250 and 250T boast a dual-layer LCD that can display different types of data simultaneously.
Atmospheric pressure is not only shown numerically and in a trend graph, but also via a new barometric trend information function. When there is a characteristic change in atmospheric pressure data when altitude has not changed, a corresponding arrow icon appears to indicate the change: sudden rise / fall in atmospheric pressure, or high / low pressure passing. These icons make it easier to forecast weather changes.
The new Casio watches offer a rotating bezel for recording of basic compass bearings, and a large measurement button that can be easily operated even when wearing gloves. They deliver a high level of operability and practicality, including a special texture near the light button to make it easy to find in the dark. These outdoor watches can be used in a wide range of activities from mountain climbing, stream climbing, and rafting, to sea kayaking and fishing, where tide information is useful.

The PRW2500 large duplex layered LCD displays the compass, tide graph and other features with outstanding readability. The ProTrek series has always been designed with adventurers in mind, this is why Casio strategically placed indentations on the top of the multi-faceted bezel, delivering effortless and trouble-free rotation. The buttons for controlling the functions are positioned at a 45 degree angle for easy operability. Delivering valuable and functional tide and moon data, the moon phase and tide level graphics are displayed on the upper level, while the date, time, and moon age can be found on the lower level of the timepiece.
